King Station

King is a station on the Yonge-University Spadina line of the Toronto, Ontario, Canada subway. It is located at 70 Yonge Street at King Street. It opened in 1954 and is one of several stations connected to the underground mall system called PATH. The station is one of three stations located in the heart of Toronto’s financial district.

Nearby landmarks include Scotia Plaza, Commerce Court and Le Royal Meridien King Edward Hotel.

One track in each direction goes through King station, with northbound/southbound platforms on either side. A pedestrian tunnel allowed passengers to cross from northbound to southbound platforms and vice versa, but was closed (sealed off) in 2004 due to safety concerns. Pedestrians must now change tracks at the station entrances only. South of King Station, the Yonge line curves west into Union.
